Main Engineering

I'm still working on the Main Engineering of the Nova class. It's coming along quite nice, I will upload some renders of it tonight, when I get home. It has to be finished on the 4th of July, so I better hurry!

Orbital Blue 95%

I think im nearly done with Orbital Blue, it has most of the basic features a yacht/spaceship would need. If I would add more I would compromise my tutorial time. :) So for now this is it. When Siggraph and some other stuff is done, I might go back to this, and finish it off a bit. More details and a better render scene, perhaps even convert it to a planetary patrol vehicle.
The first picture is showing the normal water position. The second shows the terraing landing position, this is not a normale procedure, but can be done if it's really needed. It will however stress the front rudders.

Tiny start on "main engineering"

Here is a close up of the modulair design.

This is the start of the corridor that leads to main engineering. behind it I have to create the engine room of the "U.S.S. Batavia" a small Nova class spaceship. Will be fun, about 3% finished now.

Orbital Blue update

I havent made much progress this weekend because I have been tormented by a headache and some neckpain.

Anyway, I created a small hatch to cover the back entrance, and started on the position of the "cargo teleporting devices" (the 2 white area's at the back.)

Overview

I every now and then need to check what projects I am currently working on. So here is a small list in more or less chronological order.

  1. The Orbital Blue (should be finished within a week.)
  2. The Orbital Blue tutorial (should be finish on the 16th of June.)
  3. Making Preparations for the Orbital Blue demo in San Diego.
  4. Dark Armada (A Dutch Star Trek fanseries) Star ship engineering, holodeck and corridors. Starting with the engine room, that should be finished around the 8th of July.
  5. Quantum Slipstream prototype, should be finished around January 2008.

This will keep me occupied for the rest of the year without a problem. :)

New Star Trek Ship

Today I will start concepts for a new Star Trek ship. A small warning, the text below is written for people that are into Star Trek a bit.

I decided the era (Around 2390.) and got approval from P to do a "Quantum Slipstream prototype". I think from a storytelling perspective it's essential to create this propulsion method in such a way that it would blend seamless between current and new Treknology. This means I'm only going to do the design of the starship, and not the treknology that is supposed to be behind it. This way the technology will remain open for discussion.
