Sadly but understandable went unanswered @ Apple, so I decided to post it here. :) Shown is a 27 inch version.
OFF (Transparent)
ON, the OLED display is nearly opaque
The Apple logo will adapt to the colors displayed, a symbolic “rainbow”.
The display can tilt by 2 servo motors in the pivoting system. The servo’s will make sure that there is zero slop in the display, for easier touching.
Fully 90 degree flat is also possible, for table applications.
The Mac is also wall mountable, ideal as a home automation station or for kiosks and information stands.

That's a pretty neat design. If it was for real I would consider buying one.
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
ReplyDeleteWhere did the blue wallpaper displayed on the iMac come from? I want it for my desktop!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a heavy modified version of the standard Mac wallpaper. (I used it as a starting point.)I will post it tonight in PNG format when I get back home. :)
ReplyDeleteSamsung had a laptop at CES 2011 which had a transparent OLED screen 14". Wonder if they were at least somewhat inspired by your design.
ReplyDeleteOn the flip side, a capacitative touch OLED panel of 27" is probably still a couple of years off as a concept, and likely three years off as a production item.
