Experiments I love them! While drinking a cup of tea it hit me! (Splash!)
I present to you a starship entirely made out of the teapot primitive. (For non modelers: THE Teapot is a shape that comes in most 3d packages. I think it's the nr.1 test object.)
Anyway I used 24 teapots and a couple of simple modifiers (bending, tapering, control point manipulators.) to get a generic looking starship. Kind of cool!

It does make me wonder if the JJ also sipped too much tea... :D |
Lets say I needed a break from the workflow documentation that I'm currently setting up for my next 2 projects: U.S.S. Voyager and U.S.S. Galen.

I love it! So elegant.
ReplyDeleteNo sugar for me, thanks.
Oh yeah, nice :D I´d like to have it as a retrofit-variant ;)
ReplyDeleteWho'd have ever guessed this could be done with the teapot? This Enterprise has a sleek, retro-style futuristic feel to it that would have been great in the newest movie.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely looking forward to the upcoming Full Circle ships, too!
