Tomorrow I will start with the modeling phase of Voyager, I hope to have a basic shape ready by next weekend.

Woohoo!!! And hey, glad you're better!
ReplyDeleteGlad that you're over the flu. Looks like 2012 is going to be a good year. Can't wait to see the Vesta cruising through space on STO.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're getting better :) Flu sucks
ReplyDeleteGlad to know you are better now and Happy new year !!!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the low of the lowest poly world LOL, i´ve been doing ships for BOTF game for a while, including your vesta model, that i´m redoing now again, because there´s a new 3D engine in progress for these old and wonderfull game, so i can make a more complex mesh with more polys :)
I´m more than interested to know how you would work in low poly area for STO. A tip that you may already know, the secret in low poly it´s to make a really good texture.
Eager to see voyager refit too
Normally a really good texture is a good way to go low poly, but not for STO FYI. For STO any details you see are directly modeled.
ReplyDeleteInteresting,i´ve never played STO, but now as it going to be free, i´ll take a look. I really don´t know how the ships are modelled and in wich format they work, though i´ve seen a long time ago, in a video preview that they were working with 3Dmax.
ReplyDeleteIf you have Twitter, @CapnLogan is STO's ship lead.
ReplyDeleteThanks guys! :)
ReplyDeleteCapnLogan already helped me a LOT! We have worked out nearly all technical issues that a conversion might bring. I have had contact with CBS and I'm waiting for a reply. Because I'm sure they have a whole lot of things on their plate that might take a while. :)
Fingers crossed!
loving then work on Vesta... you've created an absolutely beautiful ship there :)

Sweet slipstream finally coming to trek, love th vesta, aventine and spirit, I'm liking the different approach your going with the slipstream deflectors on the new ships aswell, then I saw you where refitting voyager, I'm loving the additions my only gripes are two areas, the deflector
ReplyDeletei don't know what you plan to do but I would redesign it from scratch to make it run as like one piece of the hulk or make it look like they added on a deflector similar to the dauntless from hope and fear sort of like a latched on deflector hope that makes sense lol, the nacelles I would stay with shorter ones long ones make it look like its being stretched
